One of the aims of the project was to try and uncover stories of those who served and survived the war and returned often never to tell the tall.

Whilst we hoped to be able to tell a few stories we never expected to list around 130 men and a woman who served in the war and came home.

We are slowly working our way through the list but it’s a slog as we often only have an initial, certainly no date of birth and rarely a regiment.

However, we have made  a surprising amount of progress and have some great stories to tell.

We do require some assistance though to fill in gaps to bring these stories to life. If you know any of the men or even a man or woman for that matter who is not on the list then please do get in touch via the contact us page.

Update November 2018 : As of this time we have identified a total of 153 men and a woman whio served and survived the war, in addition to the 29 men who died during or as a result of their service. A full list will be uploaded soon to replace the one on current display.
